This is the front page of an agreement between Alexander H. Atchison and John Jacobs. Atchison had loaned Jacobs $500 in March of 1839 and as a security, Jacobs allowed Atchison to keep 3 valuable mules (referred to as Jacks in the note) until the money was the money was returned.
