Wilhelm Oscar Schubert was born on February 4, 1850 in Eilenburg, Germany to parents Friederich Wilhelm Oscar Schubert and Bertha Albertine Rave Schubert. He married Lena Exner on June 29, 1884 and together they had three sons: Walter, Fred, and Paul Oscar. Wilhelm lived in Leipzig with his family, and ran a boot-making shop. He passed away on February 25, 1890 in Leipzig from a stroke.
