The Huber branch of the family begins with Charles William Huber, the father of Ethel Lucille Huber Schubert. The origins of this line are in Germany. Joseph Huber, born in August of 1816, moved to the United States from his birthplace in Germany in the early 19th century. During his travels, he met Maximiliana Kost, who he married on July 6, 1840. Maximiliana was also born in Germany on October 12, 1818. Together the couple would have nine children, one of which was Nicholas M. Huber, born on June 29, 1851, who would go on to become the father of Charles William Huber. Joseph died on November 26, 1877 at the age of 61 and is buried in Lancaster, Ohio. Maximiliana died on November 9, 1864 at the age of 48 and is also buried in Lancaster. Nicholas lived until November 7, 1937 when he passed away at the age of 86 in Plain City, Ohio.
