Benjamin Louis Garr
Photo of an older Benjamin Louis Garr, the date of this photo is unknown.
In his autobiography, Charles Russell Garr, Benjamin's son, describes his father as an ardent Southern sympathizer during the Civil War. Charles attributes this to an incident where someone, presumably a Northern supporter, stopped the buggy Benjamin and wife Kazia were traveling in after having taken Kazia to the doctor. The person who stopped them took their buggy, causing both of them, the sick Kazia included, to have to walk home.
