Garr Home
This is the front of the home of Benjamin Louis and Kazia Russell Garr and their family. This was the second house built on the property, as the original home was damaged in a fire. The Garrs decided to rebuild, and though the result was this grand house, it also drove the family into debt, eventually forcing them to sell in the late 1870s.
There are two mean standing in front of the house on the right side of the photograph. Their names are not given, but one of them may be Charles Russell Garr, as he appears in other photos taken at the same time.

Spring house at Garr Home in Louisville
This photograph shows the spring house at the Garr home once located near what is now Hurtsbourne Lane in Louisville, Kentucky. Based on what the building is called in captions, it probably contained the family's fresh water supply, but also could have been used to store ice or meats.
The people in this photo are Sallie Rebecca Crain Garr (seated on the far left), Charles Russell Garr (middle) and an unknown man (far right).
Garr Graveyard
Shown here is the Garr graveyard that can be found on the Garr property in Louisville, Kentucky.
