Sally Higgins McElroy
Sally Higgins was born on June 14, 1866 to parents John Allen and Bettie Chinn Webb Higgins. She attended Sayre Female Institute, like all of her sisters before her. She married Charles McElroy and the couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri. They often stayed in Michigan, where Sally's niece Elisabeth Higgins Headley Garr would visit with her children, Betty and Charlotte. Sally passed away on July 16, 1949 in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 83 and is buried in the Lexington Cemetery.
