Family History

The portrait on the left is one of Sarah Allen Higgins. She was born on January 16, 1772 in Spotsylvania, Virginia to parents Richard and Anna Wisdom Allen. She married Richard Higgins and together they had two sons: Joel Higgins and Richard Higgins.

Sarah and Richard were some of the ancestors who moved from Virginia into Kentucky. An exact date for their move is not known, but it occurred before the birth of Joel in 1803.
